I've got a tube amp head but with no speaker.Can I just connect the speaker out of the head to direct box and then to mixer?I know the head need to connect to the speaker or else I'll blow my amp...but is there any methods to use the head without connecting it to speaker?And everyone know that tube amp works well in high volume.....If I connect it directly to the mixer I can have the nice tube amp sound but with low volume controlled by the mixer,right?Thanks for everyone.
Power Break 那種東西是來接在 power amp 和 speaker中間的,應該不能用來接mixer的。 以前Mr72有介紹過一款專門接在power amp 和mixer間來錄音用的。我想不起來牌子,你可以問他。Joe Satriani也有用這種東西。
evan兄 我介紹他的用意是因為他說要用Mixer去控制音量.沒說要錄音.所以我猜測他是不想彈的很大聲吵到人.而不是沒有錢買Speaker.而hot plate的廣告就是打Your Sound.Any Volume.所以我才建議他買這個來試試.我也沒有叫他拿這個接Mixer..進去看一下說明就知道那個是接Speaker的. 當然我猜的可能和實際狀況有點出入. 可能這位朋友就是有Mixer而且目的是要錄音.那就真的要找其他器材了...http://www.palmerdirect.com/pga04f.htm 像這種有Speaker sim.外帶8 ohm Load的DI就可能是這位朋友要找的東西.
hi Sing : what kind of amp head do you own ? Most popular amp head has a "line-out" or "direct-out" jack on the rear panel, they are mainly designed for direct-recording or without miking purpose so you can bypass the power-amp stage of your amp head now that's mean it is SAFE for directly connecting with mixing console or go through a direct-box first After that, you can try to balance the output volume between the pre-amp stage of your amp head and the mixer to get your personal tone favor please don't connect the "speaker-out" jack of your amp head with your DI-Box, mixing console or other recording device It is very DANGEROUS to do such that thing ! as you know, It is a HIGH-POWER output jack from the power-amp stage of your amp head ONLY can be connect with speaker cabinet or other special device such as HotPlate and etc. Hope helps
Thanks everyone.My head is the Legacy.I know I can plug the DI between the effect loops or pre amp out of the head.But I'm quite internesting what will be the sound if I include the power amp.....you know,the power amp is a part of the tome.I'm just wondering. And yes,I do record something down and the sound I got from the "Head->DI->mixer" is quite good for me.It is quite.I dont need to connect my 100W(can be 50 W,woo~) head to the speaker and no need to let my wall shakes in order to get a good sound.And I can just mon. my playing by my head phone at night when I'm playing.I just love it. Wizardma: I do really internesting abt the DI that have speaker sim. plus 8 ohm Load....Would you let me know more?Thank you for everyone's concern.
