I don't think that the gnx2 will do that magic thing. Because the MIDI jacks in the rear of a guitar FX/PreAMP unit will only acept or send MIDI Messages , such as Program Chane, Controller Chane...etc, which are used for controlling the functions of MIDI devices. With these kind of MIDI Messages you can recall a preset patch or change FX parameters in real time. A MIDI music file is made up of MIDI Mesages such as Note On,Note Off...,etc. If you really want to record your guitar with the MIDI port of your PC, you should go find a guitar synth like Roland GR-33. good luck!
