I just check on my ESP Jap catalog ... it got an analysis on all different of wood and there is a "tone chart" come with all the wood For Basswood, bascially it is a most "stable" wood. From 50Hz to 12.5KHz, basswood is all around 0dB. That means Basswood can produce a very stable frequence through the bass, mid and treble note. Hope this data can help ...
