Tubes will last anywhere from six months to many years depending on the tube, manufacturer and usage. Preamp tubes can virtually last forever, and may never need changing. If your amplifier makes any odd noises, or starts to sound differently, ie., less bass response or lack of power, you probably need to change your tubes.
