    1. There are big promos going on through the end of the year for owners of Pro Tools 9.x, 10.x, 11.x, and 12.x with an expired or no Annual Upgrade Plan, plus promos where certain Pro Tools software and subscription purchases get you the popular Eleven Rack Mk I AAX plug-in (a $499 value) for free as well as five of the most popular tutorial videos from pureMix.net free of charge. Contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer for more information!

    2. The amount of free cloud storage provided with Pro Tools 12.5 or higher has been uppded to 1GB with a three Project limit — this doubles the amount of free storage provided previously. Plus, the paid cloud storage plans have also been upgraded. The $9.99 per month plan now has 30GB and unlimited projects and the $29.99 per month plan has 80GB and unlimited projects.

    3. Avid has launched new Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration videos featuring artists such as Junior Sanchez (DJ, electronic artist, producer, has worked with Daft Punk, Katy Perry & Jamiroquai), Ariel Borujow (Mix Engineer for Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West and Lucius), Mike Avenaim (Drummer, composer, engineer, has worked with Scott Weiland, Zella Day, Emblem3).

    4. Last — but certainly nowhere near least — Avid has announced they will be shipping Pro Tools 12.7 by the end of the year. The new version has features that are aimed at music creators, including powerful new ways to explore and work with loops and sound libraries, fresh new loop content, and improvements for experimenting and sharing new versions of music and soundtracks.

Steinberg today announced the immediate availability of its flagship DAW, Cubase Pro 9, alongside the smaller siblings, Cubase Artist 9 and Cubase Elements 9. All three versions introduce the new Lower Zone, allowing for a dedicated area in the Project window to be used for the mixer and other tool panels. The second highlight of this iteration is the Sampler Track, a feature that provides an easy way to play samples chromatically and manipulate these with included filters and controls accessed through the Lower Zone. Third up is a Cubase Pro only feature: Frequency is the new EQ processor with eight bands, each with the new Linear Phase mode to preserve the band’s signal phase. There is also M/S support, Auto Listen to monitor adjustments, Spectrum Display and reference keyboard.
