It's not easy for me to access the internet recently. So I am just using someone's computer........ FTP is actually "File Transfer Protocol", a mechanism for transferring files from one computer to another (usually across a network). So unless the server has scripts which allow you to upload files, there is no way you can use IE to upload anything. IE is a browser........ not a very good one. You need FTP software instead. On Mac OS 9, there is a freeware called "Fetch" ( http://fetchsoftworks.com/ ). It's interface is old, but it is easy to use. All you have to do is typing the server's name (for example: www.modernmusician.com), and also the user name and password. Of course you need to have the permission to access the server (which means you need the user name/PW). And you can drag and drop to upload or download the files or folders. One thing you may have to test: you should check the "Preference" on Fetch. There is some items you can select for upload and download. Because Unix, Window..... whatever serevers handle files differently, sometime you may have to select the correct way. It sounds harder than it is, but it's not. BTW, I do suggest anyone to try OS X (version after 10.3), instead of OS 9 or Window XP, especially if you are still using OS 9. It's not a perfect OS, but it's the best OS I have found. PS: There is a FTP build inside of OS X, but I have never used it before. I use Transmit. You may chack: http://www.panic.com/
