我的LES PAUL 原本是裝09-42的弦.給國揚SET UP好不久 但我改裝10-46的弦..覺得TONE明顯飽滿許多..想問LES PAUL 裝09-42改10-46的弦.有必要再SET UP嗎??
10-46, nice choice! Yes, a new setup is necessary. With heavier gauge strings, the increase in tension will cause a little more relief in the neck (= more up bow in the neck) and a little increase in string action (height). You may find the guitar a little harder to play than with 09-42 strings. So, the truss rod needs to be tightened (1/4 turn) to gain back the original "straightness" that 國揚 gave you. Bridge height has to be re-adjusted. Compare your tuning at both the open and the 12th fret. Are the notes sharp at the 12th fret with the 10-46 strings? If yes, the saddles need to be pulled back from the neck to maintain correct intonation. Congratulations! You're one step closer to "Tone Heaven".
