Hmmm...hope you can understand English,or may be "Tak Hu ze"can help me translate to chinese!I saw the Yamaha Cocktail drum catalogue 6 years ago.But....very expensive!!!So...try searching for idea/material how to build one for myself. Finally,One of my good friend(Carpentar)help me.Normally Coctaildrum size is:15"x26,14"x26.But For the "Tall one"I build it 12"x31(all the drum's parts are remove from my old 12"Tama SwingStar tom!)it took us 2 weeks to make the drum shell!as for the second one 10"x28".This one even harder, because it's very small, took us 1 month to made the drumshell.I usally play "Standing"position for this drum.It take sometimes to get use to it.Because you left leg will be very tired! But it fun to play, atleast,we(drummer)don't have to face the Singer or Guitarplayer "Back-side"all the time. But don't expect to get "Big"sound from this drum. It's good when play with "Unplug"Band or "Jazz-trio".I normally use it at Hotel Lobby,Small Stage. The best part is,after the gig/show,I can just carry the drum and go!!!!!(Remember, after the gigs, other band member already leave,we(drummer)still carry our drum one by one to the car. It's very tiring!) Thanks!
Ya!That 'GIGPIG"is a very "Cool looking"box drum.I do design/made something like this. Please check my "GIGBOX".I use it mainly for Unplug gigs.Very small, easily to carry around!
Good To hear that! But for your inforlease don't treat the 'GIGPIG" as a drumset. You have to treat it like a New Tool.It Take some time to get use the "Sound","Playing position","Moving around the snare to toms(very small size)"and lastly,as a drummer you have to be patient, cause people will start asking, laughing when you bring the drum for gigs.I have funny experiment all the time(bringing my GIGBOX for gigs!!!!)
