Mercury似乎要看具體型號，因為我以前同時有SLO和用了Mercury的Hot Rod，Hot Rod的立體感確實不如SLO。但是Wizard裡面用的這顆確實改變我想法，不過他們的款是和Mercury定制的不是直接買的現有型號。

稍微把話題岔開一下，英國系統音箱的變壓器可以找Majestic Transformer： https://www.transformers.uk.com/valve-audio-transformers 他們是從1942年就開始製作各種變壓器的老牌英國廠商，產品範圍橫跨：軍事、遊艇、鑽油平台、醫療、鐵路、電信、音響。 英國廠牌大多使用他們的變壓器，如Leak、Quad、Mullard、Vox，而最近終於上架歐陸最大電商的Cornell amps一直以來都是跟他們訂製。 他們仍然保有大部分往昔的製作資料，如果你需要某個Vintage amp的變壓器可以向他們詢問。 英國人的評價都很好但網路知名度不高...這只能說美國廠商比較會廣告... Hot Rod 100 的立體感確實不如 SLO 100，不過我還挺喜歡 Hot Rod 的手感，SLO 100 有點太緊實銳利 (＊銳利可以靠 RFT 12AX7)。最好兩台都有！ 話說我看你的 gear list 上已經有 SLO 100，Soldano SLO 現在用什麼 transformers 應該對你沒差了吧！？
其實是沒差不過有時候又怕天有不測風雲… 我是2018年賣掉了Hot Rod買琴，然後第二年他就宣佈關門了價格漲很多，所以我現在有點後悔賣太早。 我也是覺得小音量（vol pot開到3之前）下SLO高頻有些太銳利，不過開到3就ok了。RFT太貴了不過我v1換了JJ ecc83mg (mid gain) 也有幫助。

Magnetic Components是一家位於芝加哥的老牌變壓器製造商, 本來就有生產Fender, Marshall等吉他amp相容的產品
JJ 還行是因為 JJ ㄧ直是高頻略少、低頻膨脹型的 tubes (後級也有類似傾向.....)，所以在低音量之下可搭配。音量拉高就不ㄧ定了......RFT 是 70-80 年代東歐老管，就算是現在也不算貴。用那麼貴的 amp 卻省 preamp tubes，有點像買了跑車卻省輪胎預算。還是可以用力衝，沒那麼暢快就是了。 不過最好的搭配個人覺得還是在 speakers。如果配 vintage 的 Celestion G12-65。不管是 Soldano 還是 mid- high gain Marshall，tone 都是拳拳到肉、扎實無比，但聲音清晰華麗卻又不至於刺耳銳利。 感覺有點怪..........個人認為 Vintage 30 剛好是常見的 Celestion 中比較難聽、難搭配的。和 V30 搭配卻很好聽的 classic amps 大概只有 Jubilee。Marshall 很會做生意，硬把 Jubilee 搭配更便宜又更難聽的 G12-75 (V30 當時是 upgrade 選項)，差點埋沒了 Jubilee..........
選擇JJ MG這款另一個原因是因為我需要在V1降一些gain，我tuning比較低，把V1的gain減少一些然後主要靠V2來削波這樣諧波成份會稍微清晰一些。我之前試過換5751但是我覺得對聲線改變很大，後來試了這款MG覺得還不錯。考慮到Soldano原廠用曙光其實JJ已經算升級？哈哈。然後power tubes我換了Tung Sol 7581A，據說當年Eric Clapton和Mark Knopfler的SLO是用的7581A不過不知真假。 Cab我是用一個Soldano 412換了Eminence Swamp Thang和Texas Heat，這兩款是比較scooped然後低頻較多，配一個Orange 412換了大陸和英產Greenback各兩隻，補充一點gritty mids。 G12-65我沒有親自試過不過聽對比試聽覺得好像偏冷一點，好像用Dumble電路類音箱的人很喜歡配這款？ 現在配V30我覺得可能是因為BAD本身是沒有進Eminence的貨的，然後目前好像也沒有講新的cab是像以前一樣front loaded還是改成read loaded...
* NOS、vintage 管很值得一試！ 偏冷的形容有點不太清楚，G12-65 是成熟到頂的 "rock" speaker。Dumble 用戶是後來才加入 G12-65 high gain 愛用者。實際上 G12-65 本來就是設計給 high gain hard rock 用的 speaker。也因此被許多人稱為史上最棒或最棒之ㄧ的 rock speaker。Celestion 的官方說法: " Originally created in the late 70s using more modern materials and techniques for a higher power handling, the G12-65 is widely regarded as one of the best guitar speakers ever produced for use in a 4x12 cabinet. .... " Celestion 主要有名的 speakers 我買了不少來試，為了探索和原版的差別，有的也買了原版 vintage 和新的複刻，如 Scumback。最後不同的 G12-65 裡只留 vintage G12-65。這或可解釋為什麼 30 年前的 vintage G12-65 往往賣的比英國製的 Celestion Heritage 還高的原因。Great tone! 以上請參考！
